Famous est une encyclopédie chronologique et non-exhaustive de la célébrité. Ce thème est abordé sous différents angles :
l’histoire de l’art, l’histoire des médias ainsi que l’histoire de la représentation humaine. Toutes sortes de célébrités y sont répertoriées : icônes religieuses, puissants souverains, mécènes riches et influents, artistes finissant par devenir œuvres, musiciens charismatiques et virtuoses, star hollywoodienne ou porno…
Ce pot-pourri de personnalités, qui par définition, sont reconnaissable par la majorité de la population nous permet d’établir un constat et de nous questionner sur l’évolution de la célébrité.
Comment a-t-elle évolué et pourquoi ?
Famous is a chronological and non-compréhensive encyclopedia of celebrity. This theme is dealt with from several angles : art history, media history, and the history of human representation. Many a kind of celebrities are accounted for :
religious icons, powerful leaders, influent and wealthy patrons, artists that gradually become art themselves, charismatic and talented musicians, Hollywood or porn stars…
This melting-pot of personalities, who are, by definition, recognizable by a majority of the population allows us to make a statement and to wonder about the evolution of fame.
